Here at Awahou we are having great professional discussion about the purpose of blogs and wikis and how much should be teacher directed vs student directed. We have been discussing whether it is appropriate to have spelling errors in students work that is put onto the wiki what do others think?
Colin I really like the sound of your self managing of your Year 8's I would like to see it in action if that ok?

Hi Kathy I added a comment before but it didn't find its way to your initial comments so here goes again. In regardsto correct spelling I believe it really comes down to the purpose of the blog and also who is able to view it. If the blog is being viewed by potential parents then the work needs to be of the highest quality - correct spelling included, but if it is work in progress or draft material then it is just like the children's draft writing books. Hope that makes sense.
